A court date, a black eye and fireworks. Oh my!

Our coordinator finally met with the judge this morning. She was able to get the pre-court date moved up a few days to the 16th at 6:10 pm. Seems late for court but it was double checked and it’s correct. The judge also stated that she didn’t think that she would be able to reduce the 30 wait time between pre-court and final court as they have a new boss. We should know the date for final court on the 16th.

Yesterday afternoon when we arrived at the baby house Sophia had a black eye. It’s her right eye and it’s black on the eye lid part. We’re told she hit her head on the play pen. WE HATE THE PLAYPEN! It’s difficult to see in the photos but trust us it’s there and she has our pity. She was in good spirits and it doesn’t seem to bother her one bit.

Both Melissa and I went to bed around 10:00 last night. Since it stays light so long here we have been staying up a little later but we were tired and hit the bed early. At 11:00 I started to hear some popping outside and at first didn’t think much of it but it kept getting louder and I could see some flashing going on too. We had to get up and see what all the fuss was. We discovered that there was some really big fireworks going off in the neighborhood that were real close to the building. This wasn’t some little bottle rockets and black cats. This was top shelf professional pyrotechnics. After a few minutes I grabbed the camera and got some of it on video. I asked the coordinator is she knew what all the fuss was on a Thursday night and she stated that it might be someone having a birthday celebration. I explained that it looked like nice fireworks and showed her the video to which she said was normal. They know how to celebrate a birthday here.
