Happy 4th of July

No parties over here. We’re going to miss the grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. This Monday will be the first presidents day holiday in Kazakhstan. We’re told that people will be off of work on Monday.

We still don’t have a pre court date set. Our coordinator call on Friday and she was told to call back on Tuesday. This is getting us a little worked up since it’s been a week since we requested a court date. Hopefully the court date will be scheduled within the week or we could run out of time off from work and need to return to the US and then return to Kaz for court 4 weeks later. This would be a big expense that we are hoping to avoid. We came over two weeks early then had two weeks bonding and if it’s two or more weeks for pre court and then 4 weeks till court we won’t be able to stay. We want to be able to have a week or two off when Sophia comes home. We almost feel like they don’t how long it takes and that we have jobs. We also can’t figure out why it takes so long to look at a calendar and set a court date.

Sophia has been doing real good. She is smart and is learning so fast. Her hair is getting longer and looks like Kramer from Seinfeld. Today we could see her first tooth starting to stick through on the front bottom. It also seems like she wants to stand on her on but when we encourage her she starts to dance. She started making Indian noises and is giving us hugs. She also to rough house and bounce on Daddy’s leg.

We put a picture of our favorite 4 cheese pizza. I also want to let Susan know I tried a Baltica 5 beer. It was really good just might have another one tonight. We are suppose to try the Knight’s Castle again. Let’s hope the third time is a charm.

Melissa also couldn’t resist taking a picture of all these shoes for her friend Sandy Bennett at her work. Sandy would love the shoe and purse stores here.

I was able to get some belly laughs from Sophia.

Doing Yoga

A couple of toys we bought Sophia.

Four cheese pizza. Thin crust and no tomato sauce. It's goooooooood.

Shoes for Sandy.

Happy 4th of July! I think you should celebrate with 2 ice cold Baltica number 5's!

Sophia only gets cuter the more time you spend with her-love her hair!! She has more hair than Leeza does at almost 22 months!

I hope you get your precourt date soon! I don't know why they drag it out so much either. When we were there, Kelly and Doug ended up getting a quicker court date since they were there bonding before it "counted", so hopefully that will work for you too! Natasha had to wait an entire MONTH before her bonding counted so she was there from the beginning of September and got home at Christmas!

Since there don't seem to be many Americans there adopting-I will pray for a quick court date for you guys so you can get your girl home as soon as possible!
My husband made 3 trips back and forth during our 11 week stint while I stayed.

Hang in there!

I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to work on Kaz time with the courts, I will pray for a court date for early next week! Hang in there! You will look back on this and will forget all the frustrating times and just remember that Sophia is all your's!
