Bonding period, Day 1
We were all excited to go to the baby house today to start our official bonding period with Sophia. On our arrival we found her sleeping in a baby swing. We guess she was overwhelmed with excitement to see us and fell asleep. When we woke her up she gave us a big smile. We took her to the private room and spread a blanket on the floor with her toys. When we put her down she laid down and put her head on the blanket. We could tell she just wanted to sleep. I picked her up and within a few minutes she was sleeping on my chest. We let her sleep for almost an hour and when we woke her up she was happy as can be. She was very clear today when she looked at Melissa, touched her cheek and said Mama. During play time she has already learned to give five and stick her tongue out when her Daddy showed her how to. This is a smart little cookie.

awww i love her sleeping on daddy.
Leeza used to fall asleep on daddy a lot at the beginning of our visits until she built up her stamina. :)
Are they outside in the "huts yet? We arrived august 1st and the kids would spend the mornings and naptimes outside. They'd each lunch outside too. It was nice to let them have "fresh air" and we enjoyed being outside too. :)
I love seeing you guys in the bonding room we spent so much time in.
I don't know if the new director lets you-but we also spent a lot of time in the playroom-Sean really loved that. :) There is a ball pit and stuff...and the cushions are way more comfy on the bum than that hard floor in the bonding room. :) Dr. Irina never allowed it, but after she left we were in there a lot, and the music room too with the trikes and scary stuff animals. :)
so special she already knows her mama and daddy...now you see why you had to wait so long..cuz your Sophia was waiting. :)
Isnt it amazing how it all makes sense now? As painful as it was then, now you will be in heaven EVERYDAY that precious, smart, and beautiful Sophia is in your life. :)
She sure is a doll! We love this photo of Missy and Sophia. Happy Day One!
We went to an Orioles game today. They played the Braves. Orioles actually won. This was a WVU alumni gathering. Jen and Matt drove up from West Virginia, met us in Frederick, MD.
We stopped at the Shamrock on the way home and got a Rueben sandwich to bring home for dinner. Hard to believe you have been in Kaz just 2 weeks. And how much your lives have grown in that short time.
Love,
Dad and Tamara
Those baby blues are down right gorgeous.
