We got "the call"
On Monday January 12, 2009 at 4:19 p.m. we got a phone call from our agency. We are told that there is a one year old baby girl waiting for us in Kostani, Kazakhstan. All we really know at this point is that she was born with a dislocated hip which has been corrected with a brace. We are expecting to leave home on February 25th and we should start official visits on March 1st or 8th.
We pretty much shared all this info with our family already but we wanted to put in on this blog as well. We also wanted to make sure we could load up pictures. This is our babies, Nellie Belle and Chico. There world is about to be rocked!!

congratulations!! i know it has been LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG COMING but you will soon see, it was totally worth the wait!!! How awesome and how wonderful you got time before to get ready.
We got our call Mid-June and traveled July 31st...and I was so grateful for that extra time to redo our dosssier amid the other thousands of things to be done. :)
Your daughter will love your dogs too...Leeza loves our dog, Miles, and our cat Ben. If you haven't, take a break and go see Marley and Me..really cute movie about Marley and his family...so cute with dogs and kids.
It is scary sending off your passport...I recommend using the assistant stork (if you are using the dc embassy) since they don't allow fed ex...they will walk it to the embassy for you and they are just awesome. We used them 3 times since Joe made 3 trips. :)
They are very reliable. :)
thank you for the invite to your blog and I can't wait to follow along as you meet your daughter.
I had a brace when i was a baby girl too...my legs were uneven and somethign with my hip...and you'd never know...I have run 6 marathons and done several triathlons...so no worries about your daughter. :)
She is at a wonderful age, and the baby house is really really really incredible. She will be in Leeza's group, with Asiil and Almagoul and Aigul...amazing women who love your daughter like their own. :)
